Variety of Options
Hardwood, cedar, colored mulch, or decorative stone — we carry what works for your landscape.
Nothing transforms a landscape faster than a fresh layer of mulch. It's one of the simplest and most cost-effective services we offer, but the impact is huge — clean bed edges, rich color contrast against your plants, and that well-maintained look that makes your whole property pop. We install hardwood, cedar, dyed, and decorative stone mulch depending on your preference.
But mulching isn't just about looks. A proper 2-3 inch layer of mulch retains soil moisture, moderates root temperature through Wisconsin's hot summers and cold winters, suppresses weed growth, and breaks down over time to feed your soil. We remove old mulch buildup when needed, edge your beds cleanly, and apply at the right depth — not too thin, not too thick.

Hardwood, cedar, colored mulch, or decorative stone — we carry what works for your landscape.
We apply mulch at the ideal 2-3 inch depth for maximum benefit without smothering plants.
Every mulch job includes crisp, defined bed edges that give your landscape a finished look.
Mulch blocks sunlight from reaching weed seeds, significantly reducing maintenance time.
We edge beds, remove weeds, and clear old mulch buildup if necessary.
Quality mulch delivered in bulk to your property — far more cost-effective than bagged.
Mulch is spread evenly at proper depth, keeping it away from tree trunks and plant crowns.
Surrounding areas are cleaned up and beds are left looking sharp and finished.
We recommend refreshing mulch once per year, typically in late spring. If your existing mulch is still in good shape, a thin top-up layer is all you need. Every 2-3 years, we recommend removing old mulch buildup before applying fresh.
Hardwood mulch is our most popular choice — it breaks down slowly, looks great, and enriches the soil. Cedar mulch lasts even longer and has natural insect-repelling properties. Colored mulch holds its look longer but doesn't provide the same soil benefits.
Never! We always pull mulch back 3-4 inches from tree trunks to prevent moisture buildup that can cause rot and disease. Those "mulch volcanos" you see around trees are one of the most common landscaping mistakes.
We calculate this for you based on your bed square footage and desired depth. As a rough guide, one cubic yard of mulch covers about 100 square feet at 3 inches deep. We'll measure during our estimate visit.
